URGENT ADVICE & APPOINTMENTS
We have a triage system for urgent/on day medical emergencies. A clinician is available for urgent medical adivice. The receptionist will take your details and you will be called back to discuss the problem and , if appropriate, given an appointment.
ROUTINE (NON URGENT) APPOINTMENTS
Routine appointments are available mornings & afternoons and can be booked up to 4weeks in advance. Routine appointments are also available on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. To allow emergency & urgent calls to be given priority please phone after 10:30 am to make a routine appointment.
Longer appointments
Most appointments are booked in 10 minute slots, however,if you are booking for a (company or insurance) medical, a minor surgical procedure, cervical smear or are aware that you will need more than the normal 10 minutes, please inform reception at the time of booking and they will allocate a longer appointment time.
One person - one slot
Please remember that each appointment time is for one person only - if other members of your family also need to be seen, please book an appointment slot for each of them.
It is important to cancel appointments if you cannot attend. To cancel appointments please contact the reception.
We understand that there are times when situations are beyond your control. However if you are unable to attend please do try call or cancel on line and enable us the opportunity to give the appointment to someone else.
SPEAKING TO A GP/NURSE ON THE TELEPHONE
If you wish to speak to a specific GP or nurse about a non-urgent matter please contact the reception. The receptionists will take your details and a brief message. They will email that GP/ nurse and ask them to call you back. These messages will be treated as non-urgent and it is most likely that you will receive your call at the end of that morning or afternoon's surgery.
When a GP is not at the surgery on the day of your call, you will probably be asked to call back when the GP is next on duty. Alternatively you should be advised of when your message will be forwarded. This would enable you to decide if the matter should be addressed by another GP. This is Practice policy to ensure that nothing important is overlooked.
Unfortunately the GPs or nurses do not have external email for patient correspondence.
Correspondence can be received by fax on 01275 331 355.
