We believe
exercise and fitness are very
important for health and wellbeing.
Exercise helps your heart, bones,
joints and overall wellbeing. It
also reduces stress, high blood
pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis and
cancer, and helps you lose weight.
Exercise is fun and keeps you
healthy. Chews Health involves a 10
week nursing team led program with a
focus on achieving weight loss and a
healthy lifestyle. Each participant
will be given a Chews Health folder
containing supportive information
and guidance to achieve health goals
and a pedometer to monitor personal
levels of fitness activity.
What will happen?
Patients will receive regular
monitoring from the clinical team
and ongoing support sessions with
qualified Dietician. Events will be
taking place in the local community
as well as the surgery. In addition
to this the Practice has partnered
up with Chew Valley Sports centre.
Following on from the initial Health
Program patients will be able to
participate in specifically designed
fitness sessions specific for Chews
Health participants which is free of
charge to patients.
Who can I speak with about this?
In addition to Chews Health,
patients who would like to be
monitored individually at the
practice for weight loss,
please contact the Practice Nursing
team for support.
For further
information please contact the
surgery and ask to speak with
Rebecca Wych Lead Practice Nurse or
Anne Yeates Health Care Assistant
who will be happy to help.
