To ensure emergency
and urgent calls are given priority,
please phone after 10-30 am if you
wish to make an appointment
GP Appointment times
The majority of doctors’ appointment
slots are from 8.30am to 10.10am and
from 4.00pm to 5.20pm. Each slot
lasts 10 minutes each. Between these
two periods, the doctors assist the
duty doctor by seeing emergency
patients, catch up with
administration and conduct home
visits.
We aim to operate up to six weeks
worth of appointments at any one
time. Please be aware that our
receptionists are only able to book
the appointments that are free on
the computer – they are not at fault
if some of the doctors are not
available. We understand that this
can sometimes be annoying, but
please do not take your frustration
out on them. Please treat them with
the same courtesy and respect that
they show you.
Commuter Clinics
These clinics are aimed at patients
who find it difficult to access a
surgery during normal working hours.
The reception is open Wednesday
evenings ( 6pm - 7:30pm) and
Saturday mornings ( 9am - 12pm) to
register your arrival, collection of
prescriptions and booking (in
person) future appointments. The
Surgery telephone lines will not be
open during these Commuter Clinics.
PRE-BOOKABLE appointments are
available for these clinics on
Wednesday evenings ( 6:10 pm -
7:00pm) and Saturday mornings ( 9am
- 11:20pm).
Longer appointments
If you are booking for a (company or
insurance) medical, a minor surgical
procedure, cervical smear or are
aware that you will need more than
the normal 10 minutes allowed in an
appointment slot, please inform
reception at the time of booking and
they will allocate a longer
appointment time.
One person - one slot
Please remember that each
appointment time is for one person
only – if other members of your
family also need to be seen, please
book an appointment slot for each of
them.
