Offering comprehensive training programmes for schools

All our programmes are delivered by an experienced General Practitioner and Nursing Sister and will increase the safety and wellbeing of your students and staff.

This common respiratory disease affects over 1.1m children in the UK. One in 10 children aged 2-15 may have asthma at any time. Our asthma programme will help teachers and staff feel confident in maintaining a child’s safety within the school environment. At the end of the course all the participants will:

Sexual Health Couple

This is a complex area which our programme will handle both professionally and sensitively. Young people today have many streams of information open to them that were not previously available. Our programme is aimed to be presented to the children themselves, and our aim is to empower children to make safe choices in the following areas:

  • Contraception
  • Sexually transmitted infections, recognising the signs and educating on where and how to seek help
  • Relationships and sexual activity
  • The law and public policy on sex

Diabetes

Diabetes testing

This is a life-long condition which is becoming more common in all age groups. Our programme will give teachers and staff the knowledge and confidence to effectively manage diabetes within the school environment. At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of diabetes
  • Identify how the school environment impacts on the child with diabetes
  • Understand the burden of young people living with diabetes
  • Understand the various ways that diabetes is treated
  • Be confident in dealing with advice to diabetics as well as managing diabetic emergencies

Mental Health

Man talking on telephone

This programme is aimed at teachers and will inform participants of the variety of mental illnesses that are likely to be encountered in schools. At the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of mental problems
  • Learn simple techniques on how to discuss and assess the extent of the mental health problem
  • Recognise the impact of living with significant mental health either for the pupil or members of their family
